Several special event amateur radio stations have been activated by UK amateurs to commemorate the bicentenary of the Battle of Trafalgar on 21st October 1805.

ZL6QH was invited to join the celebrations and QSOs were arranged with GB200T (at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich) and GB200RN (on HMS Collingwood, Portsmouth) at 1000z on 21 October 2005. Greetings were exchanged with both stations, including Roy Clare who is the Director of the National Maritime Musem.

GB200T and GB200RN are only 150 km apart but at one point ZL6QH (18,000 km away on the other side of the world) had to relay frequency information between the two stations because they could hear ZL6QH but not each other!

Our thanks go to Dave Lawley G4BUO and Bob Treacher BRS32525 of the Cray Valley Radio Society for arranging the skeds.
